The Red Green Show is from Canada and it features a guy named Red Green and all his friends in the Possum Lodge. They are always doing amazingly crazy things such as cutting cars in half and duct taping the halves together or turning an old car into a washing machine. They also have a silly word game where someone tries to get someone else to say a word and usually some sort of ongoing story about the antics of the guys in the lodge. One time they took a cordless drill and put a mixer beater in it, which actually works because I tried it. There are some well-known actors on the Red Green Show such as Archie Campbell of Hee Haw fame and the wonderful Native American actor, Graham Greene. Greene plays a guy who blows things up for a living. The characters are all zany in some way or another. There is an animal control officer who is petrified of animals, a guy who is on probation for who knows what, and Harold who is simply indescribable. Rarely do women appear on the Red Green Show–it’s all about the foibles of men who like to do things with cars and tools. The show is no longer in production but you can find clips of it on Youtube and some PBS stations continue to show reruns of it.
