The last freeze is often in March, but can be in early April. The first frost is usually in November. Spring is cool, but there are weeks when the flowers and shrubs bloom beautiful colors. Summer can be hot, with some summers containing a few weeks over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit, but the fall comes shortly after. It is possible to see bright fall foliage in and around Little Rock. Little Rock is far enough south those cannas, amaryllis and other plants can be over wintered in the ground. Arkansas is named the Natural State for good reason, and plenty of outdoor activities are available in Little Rock, enabling residents and visitors to enjoy nature and geology while hiking, biking or walking in clean air. Neighborhoods are pretty, and restaurants and activities can be found easily. Many beautiful plants can be grown and enjoyed. The city is pleasant for fun and relaxation.
