The Day in College

This day was the best day I ever had in my life. It was the first time I enjoyed myself to that extent; I never had that much fun in my previous college. I was so excited to see all the fun and love these boys and girls have in this college. It was a new experience, a new kind of love within friends. I was a lateral entry and I thought it would take some time for these boys and girls to talk and get around with me but I was wrong, the same first day at lunch, everyone gathered around me with there hands folded behind. I thought they are all here to bang me or rag me the very first day in college but all of a sudden everyone brought there hands in front with a opened lunch box and asked me to come and sit along with them and share the food with them. That moment I was really shocked and was about to cry. No one in my previous college has asked me something like that and I was completely taken away by the love and friendship they shared with me even without knowing who I am and what kind of guy I am. That was the day and is the day I would never forget in my life. This kind of incidents happens only guys who have plenty of luck in their life. And I am a very lucky fellow in this case. To get this kind of friends, one should be really proud and fortunate. If you get any friends like this never let go of their contact in your life. Have a nice day. LONG LIVE FRIENDSHIP.

Enya’s Voice is Like Listening to Angels

Enya is a popular Irish vocalist who used to be part of the group Clannad. Her music is hauntingly beautiful and very evocative. Although she is a solo singer, the layering technique that is used in producing her music makes it sound as if she is part of a larger ensemble. Because her voice is duplicated hundreds of times in a recording studio to make her music tracks, she is unable to recreate that effect on stage. That’s the reason she is not able to perform on tour. The magic of her music lies in the way it is produced in the studio. Almost everyone has heard and enjoyed Enya’s music, even though her name isn’t one that people recognize. They also may not recognize her face. But the traditional Irish melodies and her original compositions have been used for both major motion pictures and television themes. Her music is relaxing and soothing. Her voice is angelic. If you’ve had a hard day at the office and want a peaceful way to unwind, put on a headset and one of Enya’s albums. You’ll love her as much as I do.

Stepbrothers

is nothing sacred!??!

Not as Evil as Cinderella’s step-siblings, and a helluva lot funnier! The movie “Stepbrothers” is by far the absolute funniest movie currently in circulation. The movie, starring Will Farrell and John C. Reilly, is about two forty-something’s whose parents get married and thus, the two become stepbrothers. The sibling rivalry is at its finest, but the comedic genius comes from the fact that these adults act worse than children. The movie keeps its watchers laughing line after line after line. The men are absolutely hilarious, and the irony of how they act like stepchildren just puts the movie over the top. If you want rock hard abs, don’t try “eight minute abs” — go to your local movie store and rent “Stepbrothers” — it’s sure to keep the laughs a ‘comin.

The Pianist

Compositions for piano are available in many different genres, from classical to jazz and pop. Whether you play the piano or just enjoy listening, you’ll always discover something new to explore. The latest models of electronic pianos have self-teaching features built-in. Why not take one for a whirl? Look also for keyboards that offer additional voices (simulating various kinds of guitar, horns, drums, etc.) as well as polyphony, accompaniment styles, and song memory. Whether you take up the traditional acoustic piano or learn your ‘chops’ on a digital keyboard, you’ll soon be tickling the ivories on a lifelong sonic safari.

The Beautiful City Chandigarh

The first planned city of India is the best-planned city in India. The city has the architecture which is world-renowned, and a quality of life, which is unparalleled. It is the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. The face of modern India, Chandigarh, is the manifestation of a dream that India’s first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru envisaged and Le Corbusier executed. Serenity and a city are two diametrically opposite concepts, which however, get belied in the ‘City Beautiful’. Chandigarh is a rare mixture of modernization co-existing with nature’s preservation. It is here that the trees and plants are as much a part of the construction plans as the buildings and the roads. There are many places and gardens that can be visited. Chandigarh is also quite close to hill stations like Shimla & Kufri India’s first planned city, is a rich, prosperous, spic and span, green city rightly called “THE CITY BEAUTIFUL”.

City Shopping in the Country

I love to shop, but the problem is I live in the middle of nowhere. There’s a cornfield to my left and right. Even though I live so far away from shopping malls, I like to go shopping a few times a month. Rather than traveling into a city for the stores, I like to visit the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. It has a city feel in a relatively uncrowded area. The Promenade Shops have every store you could ever want to visit. Barnes and Noble, Ann Taylor Loft, American Eagle, The Rave Movie Theater, a Natural Food Store, ad other restaurants. The list goes on and on. The mall is an outdoor mall that is set up like a small town. Rather then visiting a strip mall, this mall feels as if you are in a city or town where houses are turned into shops. Pets are welcome, there are numerous fountains and benches, and the overall ambiance is relaxing. The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley are the perfect place to have the city feels while still remaining true to country roots.

My Eventful Past Week

My past week has been a whirlwind. My fourth year in college started on Monday, but the weekend leading up to that was absolutely insane. My little brother is a freshman, and he is going through Greek fraternity rush. Last Thursday, we went out to a fraternity party, and there were lots and lots of partying, including an ice block shot (also known as a luge). Friday night, we went to two different parties, one had the deadly “punch” and the other had lots of shots. It was absolutely intense. Saturday, I went downtown to bars with all of my friends, and we danced the night away. Sunday, I went and saw Lil’ Weezy in concert, and it was absolutely HUGE! We then drove back to school and partied.

Lazy Dogs

Big dogs like golden retrievers or black labs seem to love being active and playing. Having been the owner of a pug dog for a couple of years, I can assure you that not all dogs enjoy physical activities. My pug dog, Sandy, will hide under the couch when her leash even comes into view. In the event I actually manage to get the leash onto her, she lies on the floor like a dead weight and refuses to be walked. The most energy I’ve ever seen Sandy expend has been either jumping onto the couch to pass out for hours, or running away from her leash. So when adopting a furry four legged friend, make sure you’re aware that the personalities of dogs tend to vary, and you can’t expect your dog to give up its free will!

My Day Was Okay

Good stuff today – I had my son for 5 hours today. We played on the computer, read Calvin and Hobbes, made chocolate chip cookies, and cooked hamburgers on the grill. I sold a guitar amp on consignment and have 3 more listed, so that’s looking good. On the downside, one of my freelance bosses is unhappy with my work – I had to rewrite the trivia questions and answers until he was happy. Of course, that was the same time my DSL was down, so I was not as timely in my responses as I (or HE!!!!) would have liked. Health wise, I’m still hurting from the van hitting me two years ago. But I am lucky to be alive – that is something I always remind myself. I am walking, talking and earning a living – which sure beats the alternative. And now that I write those words, I really have to say I had a great day – alive, spent time with my son, and I ate and have a roof over my head. I know there are many who are not as fortunate as I.
