My Nieces Wedding

Back in May 2007, my niece got married. At the time we lived in Riverside CA. The wedding was in Yuba City, CA which is in Northern California and about a 9-10 hour drive from where we lived. We left our house around 4am on Friday and we arrived at our hotel around 2pm. The kid did really well in the car. We had made several stops to use the bathroom and I was really surprised at how clean all the bathrooms were. After we checked in at the hotel, we took a drive over to my brother’s house where they were still making the decorations for the reception. We visited with them for about 30 mins or so. My kids were hungry so we took them out to eat and my sister went with us. Later that night, we were invited to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. My husband and the kids were tired so just I and my sister went. It was a really nice dinner. The next day was the wedding. It was held at a beautiful Catholic Church. My niece and all the bridesmaids and flower girls looked beautiful. It was a very nice wedding. After the wedding, of course, was the reception. We only stayed there for a couple of hours because my kids were apparently tired and my son wasn’t feeling well. So we left early and headed back to the hotel. The next morning, we packed up because we were heading home. But before leaving we were meeting with ALL of the family at a local restaurant for breakfast. There must have been 20 of us! We had a good breakfast but it was getting late so we said our goodbyes and left. We decided that we wanted to spend the night in Monterey CA so we headed in that direction. We found a nice hotel to stay in, checked in and headed off for a drive. We went down to a marina that had a pier with shops & restaurants. We ate dinner at a nice restaurant and had clam chowder which was delicious. We walked around and took pictures then headed back to the hotel. The next morning we were really headed home and decided to take the Pacific Coast Hwy home. This is THE most awesome drive ever. There are ocean views for several miles. We stopped and took pictures every chance we could. The kids loved this drive and so did my husband. After that long drive, we finally got home around 9pm that night. That was such a long drive home but worth every minute. If we ever get the chance to go to Northern California again, I would love to take the kids to San Francisco.
