Grown up and moved out
My three girls are grown now and out of the house. They are all beautiful, balanced and each, in her own right, is accomplished. I have a special and close relationship with each one. Like any parent, I’ve agonized over the years about whether I was doing the right thing with regard to raising them, their education, the discipline and rules I held them to, and other decisions I made on behalf of each of them. The girls were as clear on our family values as they were on curfew, conduct and homework policies. The opinion of family was stressed as far more important than the opinion of peers. I was strict. The kids never seemed to mind but some of my friends were critical over the years. But I look at my girls today and I hear a tiny voice whispering behind me, saying, “You did good.” I am grateful for the blessings of good kids and a good parenting that taught me to be a good mom.
