A True New York Meal
Last night directly after work I met my girlfriend on the subway to go to Coney Island for the evening. Of course, as soon as you get out of the train, you are at Nathan’s Famous hotdogs, so we had to have some. There was quite a bit of a line, I’d say it took twenty minutes or so, but it’s a classic New York experience. Being somewhat health-conscious, I opted for the kid’s meal (which still was almost 1000 calories). I got a classic hotdog with sauerkraut, relish and mustard, Nathan’s waffle fries with some cheese on top, and a Sprite to go with it. My girlfriend opted for a chilidog, which actually was her first one. IT was rather messy but very tasty! We each stood at the counter eating our dogs, since we were in a bit of a hurry and there wasn’t really seating. I felt like a true New Yorker eating there, even though we were surrounded by tourists!
