A Driving Tour of Ireland

I recently went on an adventure around Ireland with my father. We rented a car and drove around the southeast of Ireland – from Dublin down to Wexford. As Americans, it amazes to see all sorts of monuments which were older than our country. An interesting fact about the monuments in Ireland is that they all seem to have small graveyards surrounding them, even if the monument isn’t a religious one. There was one monument in particular (which I forget the name of unfortunately), which we happened upon after getting lost and trying to find our way back to the main road. It was a millennium old stone tower sticking out of the ground. Aside from the obligatory graveyard around it, it was surrounded by a pasture filled with sheep. Standing in that beautiful place is probably the memory that sticks out most from my trip, and it will probably stay with me for the rest of my life.
